Avoid weeds!
Update!I bought a second identical kayak so my husband could keep up on our winter rides. My kayak was hit by a truck on a launch ramp and went flying in the air back into the water, sustaining no damage! Very thick resilient material!! We love them!!! I love this kayak and has it been four years already??I like the 10 foot size because it fits better in the back of a pickup. It is a sturdy boat and weighs more than I can carry by myself. The chair is comfortable and adjustable but the screw holes seem to be stripping easily. The pedal mechanism is heavy also but easy to pedal. If the propeller gets in the weeds I have to pull it out all the way and detangle. This can be perilous if in deep water because a replacement for a lost unit would cost over $500! So, use the paddle when fishing in the weeds-- The rudder turn knob is hard to turn with my arthritic hands. The up and down rudder controls are too hard to use or don't work so I just lower it by hitting it with my paddle. As I say, "Great boat for the price!" I still love it a lot after three months use!!!
